Exchange between youngsters from Lommel and Herzberg
From 10th till 13th of November 17 students from the WICO CAMPUS Sint Jozef had an exchange with 21 students from the German school HRS Herzberg lead by the teachers Mrs. Verjans and Mrs. Radke. This project was supported by Mr. Gutmann school referent of the German wargrave foundation Volksbund for Niedersaksen and by 'Landkreis Osterode'. For acquaintance the students visited the cities Antwerpen and Brussels, with a special visit at the Atonium. Also they went for a swim. 
As a highlight of this exchange, the youngsters worked together on a creative contribution for the German remembrance day 'Volkstrauertag' last Sunday 13th of November. As a preparation of the commemoration ceremony the German and Belgium students worked at the German war grave cemetery and visited the former prison camp Breendock. During the Vokstrauertag ceremony there was a short intermezzo of the German and Belgian students with the accent on the theme peace. With statements as 'Peace is as a flower. The seed for it is in the human.' and 'We must make peace, help each other en take each others hands!'
After the ceremony the Germans left towards home and had a bus journey of about 7 hours ahead. Hopefully a nice contact will stay between the students!
