The YMC Lommel is a group accommodation and education centre for schoolclasses,
exchange projects, associations and organisations next to the
war grave cemetery.
Schoolclasses and
youth groups can – under a projectday of projectweek – find entrance to the history and help build one Europe.
Exchange between youngsters from Lommel and Herzberg
From
10th till 13th of November 17 students from the WICO CAMPUS Sint
Jozef had an exchange with 21 students from the German school HRS
Herzberg. As a highlight of this exchange, the youngsters worked
together on a creative contribution for the German rememberance day
'Volkstrauertag'

Sunday 13th of November - Memorial Day
As every year the German Wargraves Commission ("Volksbund Deutsche Kriegsgräberfürsorge e.V.") remembers the victims of wars and violence all over the world. This memorial day, the "Volkstrauertag", takes place on sunday, 13th november at 1:00 pm at the German Military Center of Lommel. Before the official ceremony everybody is invited to participate in an Ecumenical Service that takes place in the seminar room of the International Youth Center of Lommel.
War grave cemetery tour
This induvidual tour progresses through several impressive cemeteries in the region Lommel. With the 8- passenger van and a historian as a guide, you are personally driven around for 4 hours long.
Along the way we will stop for a cup of coffee/ tea with cake.
